  • img img What proof of identification / documentation do I need to rent a car?

    The driver can pick up the car after presenting an international driving license, a voucher (which is sent by email after the reservation has been made), and a credit card in your name with sufficient funds to pay the deposit. If there is more than one driver, they too must provide a driver's license.

  • img img Is it possible to rent a car without a credit card?

    All car rental companies require a credit card. Other cards may be rejected when renting a car online.

    Different cards may be accepted for renting certain cars. For more information, see the "Payment" section in the rental conditions:

     

     

    If no credit card is available, some companies may accept a debit card as an exception, as long as you purchase full coverage from their office.

    Please note that many debit / e-cards issued by banks are actually credit cards with a zero-credit limit.   • img img Are there any age restrictions for drivers?

    The permissible age for renting a car at no additional fee is 23-70 years old. However, different companies have different restrictions, so before renting a car, be sure to look at the “Driver” section for detailed information on age restrictions.

     

     

    For those under the age of 24 or over 70, additional charges will apply. The amount differs across companies but is generally 7-15 euros per day. For more details, see the “Driver” section.

  • img img Cancellation and change of reservation

    We provide lenient cancellation / change conditions for most cars and rental companies:

    If you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours prior to pick-up (in some cases, 48 hours is needed), you will receive a full refund in almost all cases.
    If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance (or 48 ​​hours in some cases), you will receive a full refund minus an administration fee in almost all circumstances.

    Cancellation policies and administration fees may vary depending on the provider and vehicle you choose. Please read the cancellation policy before proceeding with your booking.

    Remember that cancellations and changes are not possible after the pick-up time. This applies to all bookings.

    Applies to all bookings:

    If your online payment is less than the stated administration fee, there will be no refunds when cancelling your booking once the administration fee is applied.

    If your booking is made less than 24 hours prior to the pick-up time (or 48 hours in some cases), a cancellation policy will be automatically applied to your booking.

    Important information: All cancellations must be made in the “Manage My Booking” section and not directly through the car rental company itself.

    Additional insurance coverage cancellation policy:

    If you purchased an additional insurance product with your car rental, the policy will be automatically ended when the booking is cancelled. To check if you are eligible for a refund, see the cancellation policy set out in the terms of your insurance product.

     

    No-show at the rental location:
    The following situations constitute a "No-show":
    ● You didn't inform the car rental company of your cancellation before your pick-up time.
    ● You failed to pick up your car in a specified place at the arranged time and date.
    ● You failed to provide the documentation required to pick up the car.
    ● You failed to provide a credit card in the main driver’s name with enough available funds on it.
    In the event of any of the above, no refunds can be made.

    The car rental company reserves the right to refuse a car to any customer who fails to arrive on time with all of the necessary documentation and a credit card with enough available funds for the car's security deposit. In such cases, the customer will not be entitled to a refund.

     

  • img img Additional equipment

    When booking a car online, you can choose additional equipment and services (for example, GPS navigation, child seats, snow chains, etc.) that will be useful to you while driving or will make your journey more comfortable. Payment for equipment and services can be made at the office of the rental company when picking up the car.

  • img img What if the voucher has not been sent to my email address?

    Go to “My Orders” on our website and check the status of your booking. We confirm most reservations instantly, but this may take up to 48 hours.

    A fairly common reason that this happens is that an invalid email address has been provided. If you are unable to access the "My Orders" section, contact our operator via chat or email and we will send you a copy of the voucher.

  • img img Minimum car rental period

    You can rent a car for less than a day, even just for 1 hour. However, the rental price will be equivalent to 1 full day.

  • img img How will I find the rental office at the airport?

    When you rent a car, look at the “Pick-up location”. If the company has an office at the airport, it will be indicated on the website. To pick up the car, you just need to follow the signs for “Car Rental”. All car rental companies usually have offices at the airport. If “Free Shuttle bus” is indicated when booking a car, the pick-up information will be detailed on your voucher. In this case, the company generally provides a free shuttle taxi that takes the customer to the office (usually 5-7 minutes from the terminal).
    Additionally, you can always ask for help from the information desk at the airport. They will be happy to provide information about rental companies, their contact numbers and locations.

  • img img Deposit and deductible

    The deposit is the amount that covers the deductible and the cost of fuel. The rental company thus guarantees full or partial (depending on the damage caused) compensation for the cost of damage. The full deposit is refunded if the client returns the car in the same condition that it was in before pick-up.

     

     

    The deductible franchise is the maximum amount of the deposit that the rental company does not return to the client in the case of unforeseen circumstances (there is a deductible franchise for damage and a deductible franchise for theft).

    For example, if the damage to the car costs 2000 EUR and the deductible franchise for damage is 400 EUR, then the car rental company will only charge the customer 400 EUR. All expenses in excess of the deductible franchise are covered by the CDW insurance policy.

    For an additional fee, you can extend your insurance coverage to a zero deductible franchise. Full insurance can be obtained at the office of the rental company, on our website, or from a third-party insurance company.

     

     

    IMPORTANT NOTE! Even if you pay for insurance through another company, the rental service provider will still ask you to pay the insurance in full. To avoid paying for insurance twice, purchase it when renting a car through the rental company.

  • img img What cards are accepted for payment?

    You can pay for your rental car using Mastercard and Visa credit or debit cards when making your booking online. However, a credit card may be required when picking up your car. If this is the case, the requirement will be indicated in the rental conditions under the section "Payment method".

    If you only have a debit card, don't worry. Most debit cards offered by banks are actually credit cards, but with a zero-credit limit. Such cards can be used if the conditions require a credit card.

    You can check your card type through the service www.bindb.com by entering the first 6 digits of the card.

    In some cases, you will be able to book a car with a debit card, but this will be subject to the purchase of full insurance coverage directly at the office of the rental company.

  • img img Driver’s license

    Before renting a car, read the driver's license requirements in the "Driver" section. Drivers with less than 2 years of experience may present more of a risk on the road, and therefore rental companies generally ask for a "young driver" payment.

     

     

    The car rental company may also enquire about the availability of an international driving license. This can often be the case even in countries that recognise a local driving license as legitimate under the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.

  • img img Fuel policy

    When renting a car, you must return it with the same amount of fuel that it had when you picked it up. If you return the car with less fuel, you will have to pay the equivalent of the missing amount. In addition, you will need to pay the cost of the "Fuel Service". Fuel policies vary across rental companies. For more information when booking a car on our website, refer to the "Fuel Policy" section. Detailed information will also be provided on your voucher, as well as in the rental agreement that you sign with the rental company at the time of picking up the car.

  • img img After-hours pick-up and return

    If you want to pick up or return the car outside of working hours, indicate the desired dates and times in the search form. By doing so, you will only be shown cars that can be picked up / returned outside of working hours. In some cases, there may be an additional service charge for this, which will be indicated at the time of booking and will need to be paid at the office upon checkout and pick-up.

    You can drop off the car by yourself - you just need to park the vehicle and leave the keys in the box provided by the car rental company. For more information, contact the car rental supplier directly, as different companies have different return processes.

  • img img Crossing borders

    Almost all rental companies allow border crossing and travel to other countries. However, this is not true for all types of vehicle. Certain vehicles may be subject to travel restrictions for certain countries or islands. Some companies may also charge additional border-crossing fees.

  • img img Return to a different location

    If you rent a car in one place, you can return it to a completely different location / city. If it’s more convenient for you to return the car to a different location, you must tick the box “Return in a different location” when making the booking and select the drop-off place that is most convenient for you in the search form. With requests like these, there may be some restrictions on the types of cars you can choose and only options that are eligible will be selected for you.

     

     

    Most companies ask for a separate payment when the car is returned to a different location. Our company immediately displays the final cost in the search results, taking into account the surcharge for this service.

    The amount of the additional fee will be indicated on the right-hand side of the car selection page, in the “One-way Fee” column:

    If you want to return the car in another city, you must read the conditions, which will be different for each rental company. When concluding a contract, a phone number is provided. You can call this number and agree on changes.

  • img img What to do in the event of an accident

    If something like this happens, the first thing you need to do is contact emergency and technical services. Phone numbers are indicated in the contract, and you must inform the rental company.

    As a rule, car rental companies provide a full range of services in the case of an accident. If the car is damaged and can no longer be driven, you will be provided with a replacement service by the rental company.

    Be sure to keep all documents that you sign. In the event of an accident, you should also keep a copy of the police protocol and accident report.

  • img img Penalties for delayed return of the car

    If you return the rented car later than the contractual deadline, additional fees may apply. If there is a delay of 1 to 2 hours, an additional hourly rate may be applied. In the event of a delay of more than 12 hours, the full daily rate will be charged. In some cases, additional penalties may apply - you can clarify these directly with the supplier of the rental car. In order to avoid penalties, inform the rental company about any expected delays.

  • img img Applying changes to the rental period after picking up the car

    If you need to extend your rental period, just contact the rental company and agree on how many additional days you would like to add. Usually, there will be no issues doing this.

    You can also return the car before the pre-arranged date in the contract, but in this case, refunds for unused days are usually not provided for in the rental contract.

  • img img Mileage limitation

    Most mini / economy / standard cars are offered with no mileage limit. Pay attention to the rental conditions in the "Mileage policy" section of the car you have chosen.
